Droplet watched his apprentice practice, meanwhile he began thinking over new moves to teach Ari. "Alright Ari!" He called. "Since you seem to be rather quick on your paws, we will work on some quick stunning attacks." He explained.

She nodded and sat down. Her eyes shimmered as she listened intently.

Droplet offered his apprentice a kind smile, hoping not to overwhelm her with a whole lot of information on her first day, but she needed as much information as he could push in before her breaking point. "Okay, so I've noticed that you are light and quick on your paws, and we're going to work that to your advantage. Let's start with some basic swipes. See this bush?" He said flicking his tail towards a bush that jutted out into the clearing. "Trying running by at swiping low at it." He instructed stepping back to watch.

The small female climbed to her paws, stepping back slightly. She lowered her body closer to the ground and ran at the bush, attempting a blow to it's branch.

The alpha watched his apprentice practice. "Alright Ari, very good." He praised. "Now I'm going to teach you a rather common move, but it's rather effective. Watch." Droplet stepped forwards and began to explain as he demonstrated. "So imagine an enemy right here." He said as an image of Acornprick sprang into mind. "Stay back a little ways so you can get a good running start. Then charge at them. At the last moment propel yourself forwards on the ground, this will knock their feet out from under them." Droplet launched at the image of Acornprick. When he was just a few tail lengths away, he sprang forwards sliding across the ground. He stood back up once he stopped and shook the dust out of his fur. "You try, and don't worry if you get it wrong on the first try. good luck, Ari."

She nodded and took a deep breath before darting forth, imaginary legs appearing in front of her. She lurched forward towards its paws, instead of banging against the paws, she Crashed into the earth, and the vision of the wolf disappeared as a cloud of dust floated up from her skidding paws. She coughed, shook herself and got up

"Very good! but it could use some more practice" He praised. "Now try it a few more times just to get familiar with it and then come try it on me." He told her sitting down to watch her.

She nodded. "Okay," And then an image of a growling loner wolf crossed her mind. Leo. She pushed him away and saw the imaginary paws again. She ran towards them, ducking and jumping at the last second. She attempted a few more times

"Alright Ari, that should be good. Now come try it on me. Don't feel bad if you don't knock me over at first, it takes a great deal of strength, something that will develop with practice and dedication."

She nodded vigorously, and backed away towards the wall. She sped towards him, leaping at the last second and landing in a heap where Droplets paws were/are. ''Hows that?''

Droplet stood ready, his paws spread evenly below him and his tail out behind him. As Ari rushed at him he braced for the impact. Ari slamed into his front paws making him fall forwards while his back paws stayed planted on the ground. He caught himself though, before he toppled onto the apprentice. He stepped back and regained his balance. "Very good! Now, how do you think you would go about blocking a move like this?" His eyes gleamed in amusement

"ummm, I'm not sure," she yipped, she paused for a little, sitting up. "I suppose you could jump out of the way?" She said slowly

"Yes, jumping would work." He said his tail tip flicking overhead. "Here, why don't you try and block me?" He said already getting into a stance ready to launch. He pushed off and raced towards the apprentice praying she would act soon enough.

She took a deep breath and didn't wait for him to get close before leaping aside. She knew he could easily turn and speed at her, and she was ready.

''Very good'' He praised ''I think thats enough for one day'' He paused to think ''We will continue at down tomorrow, be prepared'' Not giving Ari enough time to respond he spun around and the male trotted off, his stance much like a proud lion. He called behind him ''Good work''

Droplet stopped just outside the training cave and turned to his apprentice. "The thing that sets dogs apart from badgers or foxes is their stupidity. A fox usually won't just attack the guard; they'll try to break through the barrier. A badger will sneak up on you and then attack. But a dog will just barrel into you as soon as he sees you, no questions asked. So if you were guarding the camp and a dog came into view, what do you think you should do?" Droplet waited for her to respond, not really sure if he should have continued explaining or not.

Ari listened intently, think carefully about what Droplet had just said. "You'd howl that it was coming first, right...?" She asked, shifting her paws, her eyes thoughtful. "That way others know... Then you'd..." She trailed off uncertainly, not sure what you'd do next. She tried to think, but couldn't figure it out. For a moment, she was slightly frustrated, but she blinked and calmed herself down. It was always easier to think if she was calm.

Calm down, idiot, Droplet berated himself. You're going too fast. He flicked his tail encouragingly as Ari faltered. "Well, I can see where you're coming from. You're right that if there ever is a threat to the clan then one of the first things you need to do is warn them. But in the case of a dog...or anything really...if it's within eye and earshot then unless it's heading straight toward you yowling for the clan is the last thing you want to do. If you sense one approaching the best thing to do is to hide yourself somehow. If the dog leaves then you can discreetly warn a passing classmate and at the end of the day you can inform the leader, who will tell the rest of the clan. But if it just stays outside the camp then you need to either sneak away as soon as possible to warn someone or, if you're an experienced warrior, you can lead the dog away to one of the farther corners of the territory and then escape by climbing a tree." Droplet paused, suddenly unsure of himself. "Does that make sense? A whole clan could drive away a dog, but there are very few times where the whole clan is in the camp. So the first priority is making sure the camp stays undetected."
