Roaming The Land

Beech drew wolves around the den, making a series of small gestures with her tail and ears.

Beech's face twisted in concentration and she erased the drawings. She drew a new symbol, beneath it a den with a wolf sleeping inside.

Beech erased the drawing and drew a wolf sleeping beneath a moon, writing her name beneath the wolf.

Beech turned her nose to the sun, which was slowly sinking towards the horizon. She turned back to the drawing and drew a wolf eating an elk carcass, then drew an X through it, and below it three suns. She drew a wolf walking, then the wolf approaching a cave with a pool of water in it. She drew three wolves around it, writing names around them, including Poker's name. She drew her own name beneath the wandering wolf.

Beech frowned and erased the drawings, redrawing the den with their names going towards it. She looked down at it and and drew a square above the arrow, drawing Poker leading Beech through a forest.

Beech nodded quickly, her tail wagging.

Beech tilted her head slightly and erased the drawing, then looked at Poker expectantly.

Beech followed Poker, the previous days, the hunt, and the meal all slowing her steps. She suddenly stopped and let out an odd cry to get Poker's attention. She drew Droplet's name, then a new symbol next to it, then a bit below it, Poker's name with a symbol next to it. To the side she wrote her own name and pointed with her nose towards the end of it.

Beech nodded at ranks, touching her nose to her chest then making two signals with her tail.
