Beech pointed to the empty space again, scrawling out a sentence, then quickly erasing it, twitching her ears and tail instead.

Beech nodded, staring into the distance for a moment before shaking herself off and erasing the drawing, nodding for Poker to continue leading the way.

Poker slowly continued walking towards the dens.

Beech followed her, her ears twisting to take in all the new sounds around her. Sounds she hadn't heard since. . .she cut off the thought, focusing on slowing her steps so she didn't trod on Poker's tail. She wondered at Poker's slow pace, but didn't comment. Not that she could have even if she wanted to, she thought ruefully.

"Why don't you let them re aline your jaw?" Poker asked suddenly while looking over her shoulderr.

Beech turned her ears and tail several time, unease creeping into her stance. She shook herself off and drew two wolves facing each other, drawing the symbol for her name beneath one of them and a new symbol beneath the other. She drew a small amount of mushroom water and poppy seeds between them, then a jaw with a paw next to it. She wrote the same symbol three times next to it, then a wolf with Beech written under it laying down, the other wolf standing over her. Beech shuddered, her ears and tail twitching again.

Beech pressed her nose into the ground, then lifted it and shook her head. She wrote a new symbol, beneath it a new wolf with Ulver's markings. She quickly wrote a series of symbols, then erased them.

Poker pinned her ears back and gave them a slight twitch not understanding.

Beech shook her head, adding markings to the wolf with the strange symbol below it. She shuddered, writing the symbol next to the paw and jaw again.

Beech quickly shook her head, drawing a human holding a gun, then sitting down and scratching uncomfortably at her collar.

Beech nodded, then erased the drawing of the human. She looked down at the other drawings sprawled in front of her, shivered, and erased them.

Poker nodded in understanding and turned her side that had no rear leg to Beech. She showed "#132753" burned into her flesh there.

Beech tilted her head, a gentle question in her eyes. Her ears twitched for a second, then stilled, pointed towards Poker.

Beech nodded, tilting her ears to the sound of birds. She gave a small yawn, drawing a den in the soil.
