Reika, relieved that he didn't snap at her, sighed a little. "Spend as much time with him as you can but try not to make it too obvious." She advises then heads to her den where she grabs some Chamomile and drops it in front of Anik. "Give these to Yakone. Hopefully he won't have a repeat from earlier for a bit."

Droplet frowned as the pack slowly approached. Sadness emitted from within, he knew what was happening. Or did he? The male sat on his haunches, wrapping his tail around his body. “Is there anything I can do to help?” The male offered, flattening his ears.

Anik looks up, nodding and picking the herb up quickly before jogging back to Yakone’s side. The old wolf’s nose wrinkles in distaste at the sight of the chamomile, grumbling that he doesn’t need it as his head drops to rest atop his mitts. At Droplet’s question, the old lupine seems to pause and think. “Ah, little quiet wouldn’t hurt. I don’t have the energy to deal with those youngsters over in the den, so keeping them at a distance would be amazing, pup.”

Umi hadn’t payed any mind to Anik’s show of affection towards Reika, she didn’t want to draw attention to it. Instead she let what Anik said sink in, Yakone wasn’t doing well? This causes the golden dame to think about the older brutes age. Umi lowered her audits a little sad, but she didn’t want to speak on her sad thoughts. Instead she offered kind words, “Maybe all he needs is some rest..” Umi trailed off unsure of what else to say, her tassel hung low.

Vix smiled at Yakone. "If ya need anything I will be happy to help." Vix suggested as she walked over to her den with beech and her pups.
The pups smiled at Beech and came out of the den to greet beech.
Vix arrived and smiled at her pups greeting beech. "Hey beech can you keep an eye on them while I hunt and you might want to keep them away from yakone so he can rest." Vix asked as she looked at her pups then at beech.

Beech nodded at Vixen and looked back to the pups. She may have panicked a little bit, but she was ok. This wasn't the first time she was expected to care for pups or anything. She mentally shook off the thoughts and closed the distance between herself and the pups.

Yakone seems to wrinkle up his nose at the sad tension in the air, his tail flicking as he cautiously and rather unsteadily rises to his paws. “Lighten up, pups,” he yips, gaze flickering from one younger wolf to another, “everything’s alright. Nothing to be upset about.”

Reika looked at Umi with a small, barely noticeable smile then began to head to her den. "I hope so too." She mused to herself but deep down she knew that it was Yakone's time but she didn't want to believe it. With a sigh, she headed back to her den to find Freya up and about while her younger siblings were sleep. "Why don't you go play with Blade and Lucy so you're not bored?" she suggested.
Freya looked up at her mother, nodded and ran out of the den and to where the other two pups were and also greeted both Vix and Beech. "Hey, guys, wanna play?" She asked, excited.

Vix saw Freya and she smiled. "You will be fine, Beech. Just keep them away from yakone's den. " Vix said as she left to go hunt.
Lucy and Blade watch their mother leave then they looked at Freya. "I don't have anything else better to do so sure." Blade answered. "Yeah why not." Lucy agreed as she stood up and shook herself.

Beech nodded at Vixen in a way she hoped expressed confidence in her ability to watch over the two, now three, pups in front of her. She wagged her tail at Freya in greeting, then tilted her head towards the forest. She took a step towards it, then paused and looked back at the pups.

Droplet tensed a little. "I'm worried.." the male trailed of - shaking off any negative thoughts. "Thats all." he managed to spew out of his maw. "Please take it easy. Bark if you need anything, yeah?" The brute nodded, making his way out of the cave, awkwardly pausing for several seconds before continuing. "Don't do anything dumb." Droplet lightheartedly joked.

“I had my ‘dumb’ days already,” he responds, looking and sounding entertained. “I’m more worried about you pups doing something stupid.” Yakone slowly heavens himself to his paws, stretching lazily with his jaws stretching open in a yawn.

"Thanks for the worry but I've already done something stupid as a pup." Reika said having just re entered the den and hearing what Yakone had said. "Nearly cost me my leg." Normally she didn't do stupid things but if she were too, it would probably be something either funny but in the rare case dangerous.
Freya followed Beech but looked a little unsure having not gone into the forest without her mom. "Are you sure its safe.?" She asked the older wolf.

Beech nodded, glad that was something she was sure she could answer correctly. Besides, she wasn't taking them far, just to a clearing where it would be easier for her to keep an eye on them while not getting in the way of the other wolves. She stopped in the opening, the sun coming down through the gap. She could still faintly hear the going-ons of camp. She sat down, not quite sure what to do next.

He looks up at the younger dame, dull eyes bright with amusement. “Ah, there’s always the possibility you’ll do something again. Perhaps not quite as bad.” He gives a careful shake if his frame to rid his coat of dirt, stilling once satisfied that he’s mostly clean.

Blade looked at Beech as beech nodded and he raced ahead. "There he goes to do something stupid." Lucy joked as she picked up her pace a little.
Vix wondered through the forest but she couldn't get her mind of Yakone. Yakone had help her with her pups. She knew her pups would be sad. Vix saw a rabbit and she crawled closer. she jumped a little too soon and missed the rabbit as it chopped away into it's hole.

Beech jumped as Blade ran off, glancing quickly between the three before taking off after Blade, only hoping that Freya and Lucy would still be there when she had caught up to him. She skidded to a stop behind Blade, sending a spray of loose soil up.

Umi had left the scene as well as her somber melancholy thoughts about Yakone. Instead she tried to focus on brighter times, fond memories, hell anything to distract her. It had been a long, almost forgetful, while since Umi had been around the smell of death and she didn't want it back so soon. Shaking her lean body of the thoughts swimming in her head, the golden dame trotted uphill admiring the view. Umi inhaled sharply, spring was on its way, and as new life was beginning to emerge around the pack, old life was slowly fading back into the earth.

Blade stopped and looked at the others following the at beech who stopped to caught his breathe. "Can we go to the lake? I want to try and caught a fish like our mom." Blade asked as he looked at beech. Lucy stopped to caught her breathe next to Blade.
Vix sighed. She would need to think of. a way to explain this to her pups since her pups loved hearing yakone's stories. Vix continued to walk and search for food as she thought of a way to explain to her pups.
