I suspect having "events" you have to work towards (or be a total surprise) would enrich the role playing sections. And likely a mixture of things like: "Winter is setting in, coyotes, foxes and other nuisances are moving in and depleting food sources too rapidly and we need to find ways to move them out." During this time there can be events where we have to kick out large groups of stuff and that means combat, potentially leaving the dens less safe, lack of medicine, on top of nearing "famine" like food sources. It could even cause the group to become more nomadic etc.. I guess in short, maybe taking a page or two from D&D could help should you want ideas.

I have an idea to add to the "Wolf of the Month". Who ever is elected gets an extra point to spend on any attribute (Strength, Dexterity, etc.).
