Sheeva gently bumped Tom’s shoulder, saying. “You did the right thing.” Glaring back at Kodiak she showed her teeth threateningly, then turned and took a seat next to Tom. Taking a deep breath she hazarded a glance up at the pile of bodies in front of them. They were far along in their decomposition and most were unrecognizable now but she could still make out a few familiar faces. She didn’t try to find her mother in the pile, unwilling to see her dead parent again. “Come to pay your respects?” Kodiak spat dejectedly. Sheeva ignored him, closing her eyes and trying to breathe something other than the awful air in the clearing. “Your siblings did that a few days ago.” Sheeva stiffened and slowly turned back to look at the gray male, eyes wide. Kodiak touched his ear and hissed with pain, then looked up and locked eyes with her. “Come to think of it they didn’t smell like you.” he grinned evilly then continued. “Did someone get abandoned?” Sheeva got to her feet and stalked towards the gray wolf, subdued murder in her eyes. He took a seat meeting her eyes calmly, knowing he had successfully baited the female.
“That, is none of your concern.” Sheeva tried to keep her voice calm, but anger filtered thru the cracks and made the male’s smile widen.
“So they did!” Flicking his now torn ear he leaned in and whispered. “Just like you and your fool of a mother abandoned me!” Sheeva let out a growl and sprang forward, pinning the male to the snowy ground.
“How DARE you bring my mother into this! She was ten times the wolf you are, and if you think I’m just going to stand here and let you insult her you are poorly mistaken!” Snapping her jaws shut just shy of his nose she glared down at her former alpha. He continued to look coolly up at her, smile only widening as she spoke.
“And what are you going to do? We both know you don’t have the stomach to kill me, hell you could barely kill rabbits when you were part of my pack!” Tilting his head Kodiak gave her a fake pout. “Something even you imbecilic mother couldn't teach you how to get over!”

Vixen stayed by Droplet as sheeva raced down to join tom. "Droplet should we join them or stay here until they need us?" Vixen asked looking at droplet.

Tom glanced over at the two when they began to argue. The beta narrowed his optics, audits shifting forward. “Stop it.” He said coldly, shifting painfully onto his paws and pressing in front of Sheeva. Tom met Kodiak’s gaze, “Sheeva may not kill you, but who would stop me from killing you?” Kodiak shut his mouth, still clearly upset by the whole dilemma. Tom continued, “Tsk- you should know quite well I can kill. You trained us. Surely you remember, yes? The wolves you sent out to slaughter other packs for your own personal gain?” Tom narrowed his eyes, which seemed to almost flicker like candlelight against a wall. The accusations seemed to catch the brute off guard. “Hm… Seems by your reaction you remember quite well.” Tom lowered his voice, his maw lifting to his former alpha’s torn and bleeding ear. “Why don’t you go before I tear you to shreds.” He growled, putting emphasis on several words. It was rare to see Tom like this, a blatant killer, a wolf to be feared. He didn’t necessarily like it, but it seemed his mental state would allow him to pay no mind to the cold and dead demeanor.
Still, despite the threats, Kodiak seemed to stay still. Thomas felt his eyes narrow to slits, glaring sideways at the brute. “No?” The words came out in a dead-tone. He looked back towards Sheeva then to Kodiak. “Fine.” He growled, suddenly taking his head upwards and taking ahold of the torn ear of the smoky brute, pulling down to his level. Tom spoke again through gritted fangs, “Don’t make me kill you, you bastard.” He snarled, words slick with venom.
“Please,” Kodiak grimace through a pained voice, “You wish. You’re too kind, Thomas, always have been. You act tough but you’re really just a pup. A stupid, arrogant pup.” Tom tightened his jaws, morally conflicted at this point. He wanted to kill this skit ansikt… Shit face, but on the opposite side of the scale he questioned how he’d feel. He’d killed before, he’d made that clear, but it never felt right. He always felt hung-up on guilt. “Shut your mouth,” Tom snarled, releasing his grasp on the male’s ear. “You best get out of here before I change my mind you flee-bag.” He stepped away slightly, staring down the large male. He was on the verge of snapping, losing his temper completely. Any outsider could see the gears turning in Tom’s head, watching him tick at every one word of nonsense Kodiak seemed to spew.
Even with Kodiak’s demented demeanor, he wasn’t a complete fool. He could see the truth that rang clear in Tom’s words. So, with a low growl, the male turned and headed off into the forest, leaving his two former pack mates on their lonesome.
Tom turned to Sheeva, releasing a long breath in which he’d held for the past few heartbeats. “Come on. Let’s get out of here.” He said gently, obviously still perturbed by the events that had occurred. But, as much as he wanted to discuss more, he just held his tongue and turned away. “Droplet and Vixen must be worried. Let’s head back.” He nodded hesitantly, slipping into a trot and heading back towards where he left his packmates.

Sheeva walked slowly to the mound of corpses and dipped her head in a final goodbye, silently wishing that she could undo the past speak with all of her former friends and family. Taking a deep breath she turned and followed Tom, trying not to think about what she was leaving behind. Falling into step with her packmate she let the silence hang in the air for a moment then decided to break it. “You can talk to me Tom… I know you need to say something...”

Tom lowered his head, his eyes dropping to the ground. “Listen. It’s fine… I just-” Tom paused, “I’m not a good wolf, Sheeva. You don’t know what I’ve done. What I’ve been through.” He deadpanned. The small male lifted his head again, “Maybe killing Kodiak would give me some resolution… I- And out pack mates? It’s sick what that… drittsekk did. We can’t just leave them like that. Rotting like a pile of carcasses!” He shook his head. “What if… What if we set the forest ablaze? That mutt would die and our packmates would get some sort of proper burial… I’ve watched humans start fires. We should do the same.” Tom nodded, picking his words carefully.
Tom continued on, his audits low, finally, he spoke again. “What do you think?” He gave Sheeva a sideways glance, his eyes soft, giving him an almost… Weak… Aura.

Sheeva stopped walking and watched her packmate incredulously. “What are you talking about?” Swishing her tail she fell back into step with the smaller male. “You are one of the best wolves I’ve ever met! Just because you’ve had things happen in the past doesn’t make you a bad wolf. If anything it makes you even better to have been able to experience those things then walk away still kind and unjaded.” Stepping into his path she locked eyes with Tom and gave him a smile. “Killing Kodiak wouldn’t have helped and you did the right thing letting him go. Don’t place our packmates deaths on your shoulders, it wasn’t your fault then and no matter what Kodiak said it isn’t your fault now!” Giving him another smile, this one full of mischief and a bit of evil, she continued. “And as to setting the forest on fire, I like it!”

Tom stopped when Sheeva stepped in front of him, swallowing slightly as he glanced away. His audits pressed back against the nape of his neck" I guess," Was all he said, just paws scraping the icy ground. Although, he did look up when she talked about setting the forest ablaze, his tail starting to sway behind him, "Aha... I'm glad you like my idea," He winked playfully, "let's get back to Droplet and Vixen." He mused, stepping up beside Sheeva, finally returning a smile.

(Sorry if this is inaccurate)
Droplets audits perked in interest as the dame darted off. He had stayed still as Tom had asked. He too heard the faint calls of 'Sheeva' but had interpreted it as the hard wind. The brute looked at Vixen as she spoke. "Perhaps. He gave us direct order to sta-" he started. Something caught his attention.
Blood! Droplet, without warning dashed up the hills and through the trees. His eyes widened at the site of rotting wolves, but he shook it off. He turned his cranium to see three wolves, Sheeva, Tom, and a beat down unfamiliar brute. Instinctively, Drop' scanned the male for any serious injuries then the for his pack mates. "What-'' the out of breath male tried to say.

Tom had begun to head back when out of the blue, Droplet shot out from the trees. "Droplet!" He called, bounding up to the brute. "You and Vixen are good, yes?" The smaller male whined, sniffing slightly, seemed the only thing he could smell what the scent of Kodiak's and his own blood.

Vixen appeared from the shadows of the tree. "We are fine but you aren't." Vixen said smelling blood from tom. Vixen then glared at the other male as she stood near droplet, tom and sheeva.

Tom heaved a small sigh, "It's nothing," He growled, turning to the sound of Kodiak bounding off into the trees. Tom gave a sharp bark after the former alpha before turning back to his companions. WIthout any hesitation, the male growled lowly, "We're setting the forest ablaze.'

Stepping up next to Tom Sheeva nodded in conformation. “We can’t let our former packmates rot any longer, so Tom and I thought it would be respectful if we set the forest on fire as kind of a final goodbye.” Turning to look in the direction Kodiak had run off in she scraped a paw in the dirt, muttering under her breath. “I wonder if he was telling the truth about Ari and Red…”

Tom nudged Sheeva gently, "Don't put your thoughts to that," Tom said gently, giving the dame a respectful nod.

Droplet nodded, looking at the wolf fleeing. He decided not to question. "Right, after I find some herbs for you. There is no way you could possibly make it back without an infection." the brute said, lifting his brow slightly concerned.

Tom nodded hesitantly, "Alright... Thank you." He huffed reluctantly. "Damn mutt got me good," Tom admitted, sitting down and scooping up a pawful of snow and pressing it against his wound, which still dripped blood.

Tom nodded gently, "Thank you, Vixen." The male mumbled, allowing the dame to help clean his wound. It did hurt to press the icy cold snow into the wound, but he knew the temporary pain was better than a hot infection.

Nodding thoughtfully Sheeva continued to look out at the forest around them, mind still spinning with possibilities and explanations. Idly digging a ditch in the snow under her paws she let out a huff and watched it float away. “I think I’ll go help Droplet…” Stepping away from the other two of her packmates she wandered into the snowy woods. When droplet’s pawprints turned Sheeva made a mental note then turned away and began sniffing around the trees and exposed bushes. Even if it had been a few days ago Ari and Red’s scents should still be here, snow be damned.

"Sounds like a plan" Droplet nodded before taking off into the trees. Sniffing wildly. "Shit" he said slowly, cringing at the smell of blood, and rotting wolves. Once again, the brute took a deep breath, ignoring all of the foul scents. He was able to pinpoint a few herbs here and there. Though, not skilled enough to track the exact location.
After a few minutes of searching, Droplet was able to find cobwebs, blackberry leaves, and a few poppy seeds. Perhaps he could find some useful herbs at a den. Taking deep breath, the male slowly padded towards a den. Sickness reeked throughout the small hole. "Bingo!" he said, picking up as much herbs as he could, making his way back content.
"Back" Droplet said in a muffled tone, dropping the herbs. "Not a lot to go off of, but I found a den." he continued to say as the masculine started to treat the smaller male.
