Vix walked beside them. Vix looked at Umi and Rei, "Might want to warm him up as well when we get back to the den. I will go and see where the doe went so Droplet and everyone has something to eat to keep up their strength." Vix said as she saw they were closing in on the den.

As the dames helped him to the temporary den, Droplet held a heavy limp and his head was down, ashamed. When his pack mates came into view, the brute walked on all fours - wincing from the pain. "I'm sorry." he muttered under his breath

Reika angled an ear towards Droplet when he spoke, glad that he wasn't in shock or unresponsive. "The most important thing is that you are alive." She said hoping to comfort him.

Anik, rather than following the group home, went off in search of Yakone. He’d wanted some distance from the excitement so he wouldn’t get in the way, and figured that would be a good excuse if questioned later on. His tongue lolls from his maw, breath coming in short pants and tail flicking to and fro without a thought. Every few moments he releases a sharp yip to call to the elder, who’d decided to go on a hunt of his own.

Finally back at the den, Reika helped guide Droplet to a spot in the den that was hopefully away from the cold and with that task done, she went over to her pups and laid down near them.

Umi nodded at Reika’s words, she internally winced at Droplet attempting to walk on his fractured paw. The golden dame lay very close to Droplet once she and Reika had guided him to a spot furthest from the makeshift cave entrance. “I’m glad you’re safe, that could have gone far worse.” Umi nuzzled into his pelt.

Droplet let out a whine as he sat on his haunches, eventually laying down. "I know. I should be thought it through." He huffed, resting his head on his paws, hiding his fractured paw under him. "I love you." Droplet huffed gently, grooming Umi's pelt.

Vix watched Droplet and Umi lay down then she walked over to the den. She knew her body was still cold so she didn’t cuddle with her pups. Blade and Lucy saw their mom and ran over to her. “Mom!” They both yelled and smiled. Vix smiled at them and looked at them as she sat down. “I’m alright, pups. I still need to go hunt so stay here and close to the pack.” Vix said as she looked at them. They nodded and watched their mom walk out of the den. Vix stepped outside of the den and then stretched.

Finally getting a response from the somewhat blond male, Anik trots in that direction. Yakone is ambling over, two rabbits and a squirrel clamped proudly in his jaws. “I’ve still got it!” He chuckles, posture as straight as he can get it as he practically radiates pride. Anik looks entertained, moving closer and taking the prey so Yakone can talk like he wants to before following the older home. “And you say squirrels would make me throw out my hip,” he grunts, mocking offense as he leads the way back to the camp.
Returning moments later, Yakone greets the others with a cheery bark. “I’ve got food, pups.” Anik drops the food next to Yakone, dropping to sit on his haunches while his father pads off to rest.

Umi hums calmly “It’s no ones fault, we’re all hungry and the winter is just a little harsh is all. We all jumped at the chance of that doe.” She sighed enjoying Droplet grooming her. Umi curled a little closer “I love you too.” She smiled .

"At least no one else got hurt or worse." Reika looked up to the entrance upon hearing Yakone and Anik returning. "I see someone still has some spark left in him." She said, amused.

Yakone curls up near the den entrance, grooming his snow-covered coat while Anik picks the food up once more and approaches the others. He drops one of the rabbits at Reika’s paws mutely, nudging it closer to her before turning and leaving the remaining rabbit and squirrel with the Alpha and his mate. “Yak went out hunting,” he murmurs, leaving the explanation at that before turning and padding out.

Reika began to eat only to be interrupted by the abandoned pup-she really needed a name, crawling over her paw whimpering as if wanting attention. Sighing a little, Reika gently nudges the pup off her paw causing her to roll onto her back with a whine. She laughs then goes back to eating.

Yakone’s ears shoot up at the vaguely familiar sound of a pup whimpering, pushing himself to sit up with a concerned look on his face. His ears twitch in search of the sound, before he locates it and stands, heading in that direction. “Everything alright?” He questions, an anxious look in his eyes as he stops near Reika and the abandoned pup.

Reika looks up at Yakone. "Everything's alright." She glancing at the pup as she tried to roll over onto her paws and laughed a little then rolled her over. "Just playing."

He nods, looking relieved as he slowly moves to lie down where he is. His head rests atop his paws, eyes half open. “Wasn’t sure, was just focused on the whimpering.”

Reika nods in understanding. "Don't worry, I would've done the same." She says then yawned a little putting her head down. She frowns a bit annoyed as the pup once again tries to get her attention. She crawled over her paw, turned around then laid down on it. "Well, if that's what you wanted." Reika smiles a bit.

He chuckles, tail thumping against the ground lazily. “I remember when Anik was that small; he was the runt of his litter, I think, but had the worst attitude of them all. He was always clambering all over Suluk’s paws and biting at the tails of his siblings.”

Reika was about to say something but was interrupted once again by the pup gnawing-seems her teeth are starting to grow in, on her ear and she looked unamused. "Ouch! Did he always do this?" She asked.

His ears prick, and he pauses his effort to correct himself that Miki has been the runt, and Anik second smallest. “Simply means her teeth are coming in. Pass her over, you can spare your paw the pain.”
