Droplet hadn't realized Reika's presence or Umi's sudden disappearance. The brute had been in a slight slumber - worried about what was currently happening to his pack. It was like he couldn't open his optics or mouth - but he wasn't complaining. Droplet twitched a little as the Iota reapplied cobwebs to his wound, though he hadn't quite woken up just yet.

Vix laid asleep with her pups cuddling into her to sleep. Vix's tail move to curl up protectively over her pups out of habit. Lucy and Blade soon fell asleep from their mom's warmth.

Umi lay there for a while letting Droplet’s paw rest elevated on her back, but something caught her attention mentally causing the golden dame to carefully stand. Umi looked around for anything to keep her mate’s leg lifted, with how barren this winter was Umi could only find a smooth stone of which she propped his paw. Umi sighed and swiftly treaded out to where Keeva was, the golden dame eyed the smaller cream pelted one, yet her icy blue gaze was soft as she cautiously approached “Keeva?..”

Flicking an ear softly to her name being called the small framed female slowly moved her head. Only a bit to allow her eyes to spot Umi approaching. "...What do you want?"
It may have seemed she was a little hostile though on the way back her mood was slowly shifting. Which was why she had isolated herself for the time being. But at the moment she was trying to keep her nerves down as well as keeping herself in check.

Umi’s audits flicked backward at Keeva’s slightly harsh tone, but Umi continued to speak calmly yet she didn’t move any closer to the tree or Keeva, something was off about the dame. “I’m here to see you obviously...” she offered an awkward chuckle trying to be friendly, but continued speaking “I know you didn’t mean to hurt Droplet Keeva, and we’ll all get through this rough winter together.” The golden dame smiled, Umi was still on her toes, but did well to hide it.

Tilting her head slightly as she narrowed her eyes there was a hint of irritation in her gaze but also confusion. "Look I don't what you're talking about but I suggest you return to your injured mate. I can get through this winter on my own Umi, if you don't wish to become ill then worry about yourself."
Speaking harshly it was clear enough she wasn't herself. It's just been one huge irritating experience for her this winter. Most of the time she just wanted to be alone and allow whatever was inside her to pass. But that was unlikely to happen.

Umi flicked her audits again, this time they remained backward as she was now slightly irritated, this wasn’t like Keeva at all. Her tassel lashed back and forth “Listen Keeva, doing things on your own won’t help whatever is going on with you. You’re in in a pack for wolves sake, that implies togetherness. You’re not alone.” Umi was worried and itching to step forward, but didn’t want to risk it, her hackles raised ‘what is wrong with her.’ She mentally thought. The golden dame spoke up again “You. Need. Help. Keeva... Or whatever this is might not pass so easily as you hope. Your stubbornness also complicates it. ” Umi knew she was pushing, but Keeva had to be in there somewhere whatever was ahold of this dame wasn’t like her. This made Umi’s fur bristle with uncertainty as she gave Keeva more space, but remained in sight.

Allowing her emerald colored eyes to narrow even more at her there was a faint growl leaving through her muzzle. Suddenly propping her upper half up and fixing her legs as if she was getting ready for something. Her ears flattened out and she curled her lips to show her dagger- like teeth.
"And you Umi need to back off." Snapping her jaws once as if giving her a warning. Keeva was confident in herself she'd get through this without any aid. As she did when younger. She always relied on herself and no one else, it could've more of a trust issue perhaps but who really knows. "I won't hesitate Umi... This is your warning."

Umi was appalled Keeva dared bare her teeth at her alphess. None the less the golden dame emitted a deep snarled from her throat baring her sharp canines as well, her tassel held high and hackles raised with just as much altitude Umi finally spoke up backing away from the smaller dame “Fine.” She spat, “But should you find you yourself crumbled in a corner, don’t be surprised. We’re trying to help.” Backing away but still keeping her sharp icy blue gaze on Keeva Umi growled. She narrowed her eerie hues and continued to back away not trusting the dame in front of her in Keeva’s current state. Umi was finally at a safe enough distance and the cave was in her sights before she whirled around kicking snow back as she took off. Something was wrong with Keeva, something bad. And hopefully it wouldn’t befall the others.

'Oh not again.' Reika thought as she sighed, shaking her head upon hearing the commotion. There wasn't a reason to intervene as it was over but that doesn't mean that's its not concerning. Sighing a little, the silvery-white female pushed to her paws and left the den to the lake to think and get a drink, passing Keeva at a distance and not giving her a second glance.

Watching Umi run off to elsewhere Keeva simply stood there looking off into the direction she went. Soon enough her glare slowly turned into on of worry for worry and self disappointment.
"...I don't need help...I don't....need it..." Slowly lowering herself to sit down as her ears flatten. There was a faint whine escaping through her jaw. She wanted to do this on her own, for a few reasons only she knows of. But seeing how those who proved to care about her were turning her away caused her to feel pain within.

Hearing him she simply chuckled before walking up to his side and playfully bumping into his side. Always so prideful he was, though Keeva was the same way a bit. Which gave her a reason to mostly be in his company rather than others, it was easy to be herself around him. "Prideful aren't you? If anything I should be the one to say that, you're lucky to be blessed with my presence." Holding a sly faint smirk she soon picked up the pace a bit to trot ahead of him. The masculine chuckled lightly. His lengthy tassel sway side to side in a sort of rhythmic motion. Calix licked his chops promptly. Hunger crept up on him slowly. He began taking slightly longer strides to once again move alongside the femora. “Now now my dame,” he teased playfully, “Don’t forget with whom you speak.” The left corner of his mouth pulled up slightly, forming a one sided smirk. His narrow snout remained elevated in pride and dominance. And though he enjoyed conversing with the damsel, his instinctive nature was predominant, causing the masculine to always sport a fairly aggressive manner. However, he was certain he would never harm his colleague. |

Umi paced frustratedly around the cave for a while before deciding to calm down. Her acting antsy wouldn’t help their pack cold situation. The golden dame sighed as she sat next to her mate, quietly eyeing the bones from what she and Droplet had eaten earlier. Umi just wanted this harsh winter to be over.

Finally able to think properly, Reika heads back to the temporary den after getting a drink and comes back to find Umi looking troubled. "Umi, are you okay?" She asked the golden alphess. "I know this weather isn't the best but how are you fairing?" She pads over to her pups and lays down near them.

(apologies for my absence on this thread, getting back into it now!)
Anik had been off in search of food, having separated himself from the pack after the news of his father's passing. With a vole and hare clamped between his jaws, he returns to the temporary - hopefully - settlement of the wolves. He drops his kill in a covered spot where no snow or pests will get them easily, and offers only a bark to alert the pack of the food, before turning and trotting off again to see if he can perhaps find something else to feed them; he wanted to be useful, and distract himself, and this was the best he could do.

Umi looked up to see Reika speaking to her, she shook her head as she hastily decided to confide in the silver dame. Umi exhaled sharply “This is by far the longest winter I’ve ever encountered. But I’m fairing well thank you.” The golden dame paused to send a warm smile to Reika. “I just want what’s best for us all, and I’ve been worried for Droplet and Keeva.” Umi sighed softly as she sent a sideways glance to her sleeping mate to be sure he was in fact still resting peacefully. She then dully gazed outside the cave in the direction of where she had came from speaking to Keeva. Standing the shake her frame Umi scratched at the back of her head with her left hind leg.

After having the conversation with Umi, despite knowing she was the alpha female of the pack trying to be respectful was something Keeva had a hard time working on. But this winter, her behavior has been a rollercoaster. Whenever trying to receive help from anyone she felt the need to get aggressive and defend herself. There were even moments where she would blank out and not remember a single thing she did. She still had yet to know what happened earlier in the day with her and Droplet.
Getting all the help she needs to make it past this winter was the best option, but with her high level of stubbornness it seemed useless. At this rate she could possibly lose her life to this illness. There was a faint whine escaping her muzzle, flattening her ears and tucking in her tail the small dame decided to move away from her spot. She was seeking comfort from the pain and such. It hurt her to know that she was pushing away those who only cared for her but...things were getting to hard to control.
By the time she found the sire Calix, minding his own business she silently walked up behind him. Lowering her head as if he was someone of much higher rank. Pressing her head against his side and lowering her body to lay against him she remain quiet. Keeva didn't want to speak of her health to anyone, it showed just how weak she really was despite her strong attitude she puts up. "Can I...lay here with you?"

Reika nodded understanding what she was saying. "I understand but Keeva will learn on her own. We can't force it to happen." She said moving her pups closer to herself. Reika glanced to where Umi had talked to Keeva and sighed a little. 'It'll take some time but she will understand everyone takes care of each other in this pack,' She thought slightly concerned.

Lucy and Blade woke up. They started to play as Vix woke up. Vix laid still as she watched her pups and listened to Rei's ad Umi's conversation. Vix didn't say anything, She could say she understood how Keev felt a little bit. Vix smiled watching her pups play. 'Winter please pass fast.' Vix thought as her eyes were o her pups.

Umi nodded slowly to Reika “I hope so.”. She understood, yet at the same time Umi wanted everyone to okay and for everything to always go right. She mentally sighed ‘Little miss sunshine always trying to make things perfect in a not so perfect situation..’ Umi half heartedly scoffed at her thoughts. She soon became more relaxed laying by Droplet watching him sleep peacefully.
